Final Presentation

Hi, everyone. My name is Jamie. Today, I am proud to share my product in Alice’s course this semester. I’ll start my speech by giving you a story about how I chose the theme of my project. Then, I’ll show you the tools I learn and how I use them for my project. You will also see my project blog.

At first, I chose to work on “Cultures all over the world” out of my interest in anthropology. Nevertheless, I changed my theme into “**The Beauty of Taiwan**” owing to the too-widely information of cultures all over the world. I limited my project to the culture of Taiwanese aborigines instead.

In fact, although I have restrict my project to a much small scale, there is still a lot of information I could introduce. Hence, I won’t introduce everything of the tribe, but focus on the most significant features of them, with the help of Flickr (photos), Youtube (videos), and music.

The fist aboriginal tribe I’m going to introduce is “Atayal”. The most representative characteristics I chose are divided into four parts.
I.The Facial Tattooing (Partisan)
II.Traditional Dress
III.Traditional Folklore
VI.Traditional Customs
Let’s go to my blog and take a look at the “on-going” product.[[http://lsproject.wordpress.com/|]]
I’m still working hard on the Atayal project! Good luck to me :p

It’s almost a semester since we were introduced Web 2.0 tools. From this course, I encounter some difficutlies as well as gain something valuable. So, in the end, I’d like to share my reflections with you….

Atayal People

At the beginning, I have to say sorry for failing to put the slide of Atayal people on my blog, what I want to do initially. This might be slight disappointing, but I really spent a lot of time trying. Regardless of my endeavor, it just didn’t work! Finally, I have no option but make a link to the slide. I wish this won’t ruin my project.
Now, just enjoy the world of Atayal=] (more…)

The Difficulty

It had passed three weeks since I started my project.

At the beginning, my teacher, Alice, once told me that my topical subject might be kind of wide. “Cultures all over the world”, my original subject, ranges too wide indeed. I thought I could handle it before, but I realized the fact when I stunned at the blooming information!

I have thought repeatedly whether I shall change my subject. If I change my theme now, the endeavors I made before would all be in vain! Nevertheless, I have to do so for the long run. Consequently, I would like to change my subject into “The Beauty of Taiwan—The Culture of Taiwanese Aborigines.”

Being a Taiwanese, I think it important to affiliate the history and culture of Taiwan. As a result, I want to introduce the beauty of Taiwan to foreigners who are interested in Taiwanese aborigines or Taiwanese who has not familiar it at all. Additionally, this project will give me an opportunity to obtain knowledge of my home and these respectable natives.

It’s a start. I’ll spare no efforts to do my project =]

About My Project

Hi, everyone! I’m Jami. I built up this new blog for my project—Cultures all over the world.

I’m very interested in anthropology beacause of an annauly festival—Yilan Enternational Children’s Folklore and Folkgame Festival(宜蘭國際童玩節). Every summer, I went to Yilan, where is my grandmother ’s homelives, to have a relaexing summer vacation. As a result, I anticipated the summer vacation very much, and what’s more excitingexpectanter, the Folkgame Festival is around the corner!

Most people wentgo to the festival for the fascinating exciting facilities based on “aqua” beacause it sootheded the hotness. Nevertheless, as far as I’m concerned, I went there for another purpose—tThe performances from different countries. From the performances, we can know different countries’ clothescostumes, dances, arts, and even music. I was so astonished that I want to have the project on different cultures now.

Now, it’s a start. May you enjoy my articles and know the amazement of different cultures!!
